2.Androsterone is a steroid hormone produced in the body from 5α-reduced metabolites of dehydroepiandrosterone and possesses 7-fold weaker androgen potency compared to that of testosterone (Item No. 15645).1 It is the major androgen excreted in urine as a metabolite of testosterone and is used as the international reference standard for androgenic activity.
